Eagle's Nest Christian School |
|
The school was established in Polokwane in 1995 by a group of Christian families and the current vision leader, Mr. Mac van den Berg. After praying for a year the Lord put a desire in their hearts to establish a multi-cultural, Christ-centred school. Dr. Hertjie Sandenberg prayed with Mr. and Mrs. Van den Berg and introduced them to Neels de Jager (director of FCE). Eagle’s Nest was the first Multicultural School in Polokwane. Challenges were finances, racism in town and the Municipality constant threatening evictions. After prayer and prayer walks God provided premises just outside the city in 1998. The school moved to this plot situated in Savanna amongst thorn bushes and with a beautiful view on the Wolkberg mountains where the learners grow close to God in the natural surroundings. A court case was held upon establishing the school (cost R45000), Mandela endorsed the school. Dr. Witfield held the school’s case and after reviewing it sternly warned the opposers for opposing a Christian School. 7 Classes had been stored elsewhere and were obtained on condition that they would be re-used for Educational purposes. Over the years the school were built into what it is now and are still developing with the help of our Lord. The school consists of a pre-, primary and high school. We had our first Grade 12’s in 2005 when the school turned 10 years. In 2005 we had 81% pass rate and from 2006—2008 we had a 100% pass rate. |
